    Richard Krumwiede, ASLA, RLA #2834

    founder and president

    Mr. Krumwiede is a hands on principal, who actively participates throughout all phases of Architerra projects. He conducts design development and administration on a wide range of projects including: parks, community master plan design, public schools, model homes, multi-family, and street projects.

    He is experienced in the use of drought tolerant native trees and shrubs, low water use irrigation systems, on-site water retention bio-basins and is always mindful of the aesthetic requirements of each and every project. He has delivered multiple presentations on water efficient landscaping for ACWA (Association of California Water Agencies), the San Bernardino Water Conference, as well as training various cities and home developers regarding the State’s Water Ordinance AB-1881.

    He is an active member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and recently finished serving as the President of the Southern California Chapter. Honors and Awards include numerous City Beautification Awards, as well as commendations for Model Home and Master Planned Community Designs. In 2007, he was awarded an ASLA Honor Award for garden design of his residence, located in the San Bernardino mountains. The property was also featured in the July 2007 issue of Sunset magazine as well as in various viticulture blogs and publications.

    He was born in Upland, California, and graduated from Cal Poly, Pomona with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture in 1984. He is currently licensed as a landscape architect in California (#2834), Arizona (#29115) Oregon (#841) and Nevada (#446).

    Gregg Denson, RLA #4302

    director of design

    As Director of Design, Mr. Denson is responsible for oversight on all project design, from inception to completion. He as been integral to some of the firm’s most challenging projects and his diverse portfolio includes successful collaborations with both private developers and public agencies.

    As the leader our talented design team, he is involved in all project types including sustainable design, resource conservation, parks, specific plan developments for master planned communities, schools, mixed-use residential developments, trail planning, and open space preserve enhancement projects.

    Mr. Denson has a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and brings more than 23 years of design experience to all project types. He is currently licensed as a landscape architect in California (#4302). He is also a native plant enthusiast who utilizes his own residence to study the growth characteristics and water requirements of California native plants.

    Jeff R Chamlee, ASLA, RLA #1736

    director of production

    As Director of Production, Mr. Chamlee oversees the work of the firm's project managers and technical staff on all of Architerra's numerous commercial, institutional, and residential development projects. He is charged with all project scheduling, quality control and the technical competency of construction drawings. In addition, his duties include client relations, design development, project coordination, project management and construction administration.

    Mr. Chamlee brings more than 35 years of leadership experience in landscape architecture design and planning to Architerra. He is experienced in team management and operations, service expansions and quality improvements in a wide array of commercial, public and private settings. He has been the primary contributor on hundreds of projects involving master planning, facilities planning, site design and construction.

    Mr. Chamlee has served as a consultant to several well-known landscape design firms and lectures regularly at UCLA. He is an ASLA member and a registered Landscape Architect in California.(#1736)

    Our firm is lead by three respected veteran landscape architects: President and founder Richard Krumwiede; Director of Design Gregg Denson; and Director of Production Jeff Chamlee – collectively with nearly 100 years of experience, at the highest levels of professionalism, dedication and service.


    We are growing! Currently we have 18 full time staff members including 16 landscape designers, four of whom are licensed landscape architects. Our main office is located in Rancho Cucamonga, in the heart of the economically vibrant inland empire of southern california.

    We are seeking a talented, self-motivated, and diligent Landscape Architect Senior Project Manager with a minimum of 10 years’ top level design and production experience, along with the ability to lead the development and planning of diverse projects, as well as supervise the landscape architecture production staff to their fullest potential.

    The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage complex projects, develop planning, construction and design graphics, perform accurate plan checks, ensure overall quality control, along with the ability to schedule and identify long and short term staffing requirements. The candidate will have the ability to supervise the CAD process for landscape construction documents including construction and planting plans, construction details, irrigation plans and specifications for commercial, residential, community and public agency projects. The Senior Project Manager should be a strong problem solver, with excellent supervisory and communication skills.

    This is a Senior Management position at one of the premier landscape architecture offices in Southern California, and only well qualified applicants will be considered.

    The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, understand the production and design processes, and be a solid team player. It is also important that the candidate understand the unique Southern California environment and possess a strong working knowledge of native and climate appropriate plants. California Licensure is required. Candidates should be assertive and have strong graphic and communication skills, and must be comfortable presenting design solutions to various internal and external clients and stakeholders.

    Software proficiency should include AutoCAD, Land F/X and MS Office along with other applications commonly used in a professional landscape architecture firm.

    Education Requirements:

    Minimum Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture Degree from an accredited University, Masters desirable.

    Career Level:

    irrigation designer


    We are seeking an energetic and knowledgeable individual with 3+ years of experience in comprehensive irrigation design. The ideal candidate will be an organized self-starter, who can work independently with minimal supervision. Applicants will have verifiable work experience, having worked with a landscape architecture, landscape construction or irrigation design firm.

    The preferred candidate should have a strong background using CAD in the design and production of irrigation plans for a wide variety of projects. The irrigation designer should possess good communication skills and field observation experience is highly desired. Certification as an Irrigation Auditor is a big plus. Preference will be given to candidates currently located in Southern California.

    Software proficiency should include AutoCAD, Photoshop, Land F/X and MS Office along with other applications used commonly in a professional landscape architecture firm.

    Education Requirements:

    Landscape Architecture Degree or Irrigation Design Certificate from an accredited university.
