City Of Ontario

Designed to be an integral part of the Community Center and surrounding development of the Park Place, located in the Ontario Ranch development zone. As is often the case in new developments, many of the traditional elements of neighborhoods may take years to coalesce. Celebration Park was envisioned from the outset, to improve the neighborhood quality of life by providing a large, traditional community centered park at the core of this newly built community.

The vision was to provide a park that recalls a simpler time of family picnics and grand Fourth of July events. Park offers ample space for large family gatherings along community and civic events and features historically themed elements throughout. Traditional gazebos and arbors compliment the great lawn providing picnic areas and performance spaces.

Three demonstration gardens are featured and include a heritage rose garden dedicated to the Charlotte Armstrong Rose, produced by one of the first successful enterprises in the young city of Ontario: the Armstrong Nursery. The other two gardens were designed to highlight climate appropriate planting– one with California Natives, the other with plants from Mediterranean climates from around the world, both highlighting climate appropriate planting as a positive example to area homeowners. Each demo garden features a a graphic interpretive panel and monument designed by ADG highlighting the historic and ecological significance of the gardens.
